”JAPAN IN SEASON” PROGRAM

Partnering with Local Stakeholders to improve Destination Appeal

HOKURIKU FUKUI TOYAMA ISHIKAWA

As a Destination Management Company, the JTB Group works closely with community stakeholders to enhance destination allure. Showcasing seasonal local delicades,JTB “Japan-in-Season”program has been helping to revitalize communities through increased tourism and merchandising since 1998.
The Hokuriku Shinkansen, which opened in 2015, will be extended from Kanazawa to Tsuruga on Saturday, March 16, 2024. This will connect the Tokyo Metropolitan Area and three prefectures in the Hokuriku region (Fukui, Ishikawa, and Toyama), and will also shorten the travel time to the Kansai and Chukyo (Nagoya) regions. Furthermore, as the Shinkansen line unites these three prefectures, a brand-new excursion route is now made possible, allowing people to go sightseeing mainly around areas reachable via stations on the Shinkansen line.
Taking advantage of this new service that will make it easier for many people to visit the Hokuriku region, we will endeavor to revitalize the region as a tourist destination that attracts regular visitors all throughout the year by developing products that can contribute to recovery from the 2024 Noto Peninsula Earthquake and promoting the wonders of Hokuriku.
