1. This tour is accompanied by a National Government Licensed English Guide Interpreter.
Deeply rooted in Japanese culture with a history of more than 1,500 years, sumo remains a significant part in the life of the Japanese people today.
Watch sumo, Japan's national sport, from designated 3rd floor A chair seating (rows 1-4) and enjoy a unique experience that's simply not possible by just watching on TV! Come face to face with culture that has been kept alive through many years, such as the presence of a referee which began in the Sengoku period (about 1467-1603), and the use of vivid 'kesho-mawashi' ceremonial aprons and the ring entering procession which have continued from the Edo period (1603-1868).

2. All tour participants will receive "The Sumo," a booklet about sumo (in English) as a gift!
It has easy-to-understand explanations about the origins of sumo wrestling, match rules, reading the banzuke list, enjoying the ceremony, and more, so feel free to use it during the sumo viewing.

3. As a special perk exclusive for customers on this tour, a group photo will be taken with a recently retired popular sumo stable master!
Take this opportunity to get a memento of the March tournament.
*Additional charge is required for the actual photo (JPY 2,000 per copy, mounted on a venue original paper frame).
As this is not included in the tour booking charge, customers who would like to purchase are to pay at the location on the day.
