Chichu Art Museum Visit & Lunch (Eat lunch on your own)

Built in 2004, the Chichu Art Museum is a site for rethinking the relationship between people and nature. To avoid damaging Setouchi’s breathtaking scenery, most of the museum was built underground. The building, designed by Japanese architect Tadao Ando, houses permanent displays of artworks by Claude Monet, James Turrell, and Walter De Maria. While located underground, the space and artworks appear different throughout the day and the season due to the natural light shining in. Customers are free to explore on their own inside the Chichu Art Museum. There will be no accompanying guide while touring. Thank you for your understanding.
