1. On this 1-day tour, be immersed in the beauty of nature with a visit to the 300-meter-long Tsurunomai Bridge, Japan's longest triple-arch wooden bridge which may be difficult to reach via public transportation, and experience the grandeur of the mountainous region of Shirakami with a visit to the Shirakami-Sanchi Visitor Center, the gateway to World Heritage Site Shirakami Sanchi. The tour is accompanied by a National Government Licensed English Guide Interpreter.
2. Built using cypress sourced from Aomori Prefecture, the Tsurunomai Bridge is Japan's longest triple-arch wooden bridge spanning a total length of 300 meters. It is a popular spot where the sight of the bridge with Mount Iwaki in the background is said to resemble a crane flying in the sky.
(*Due to repair work, roads will be completely closed to traffic during the period of Sept. 1 to Dec. 31. )
3. Learn about the relationship between beech trees and the ecosystem in the mountainous region of Shirakami with a visit to the Shirakami-Sanchi Visitor Center, the gateway to Shirakami Sanchi which was registered as a World Heritage Site in December 1993.
