  • Tour Details
- Stroll through streets lined with samurai residences at Kakunodate, known as the Little Kyoto of Tohoku. The beautiful scenery creates an atmosphere as if having slipped back in time to the Edo period (1603-1868). In spring, the cherry blossom trees are particularly beautiful, and the contrast between the samurai residences and the cherry blossoms is a spectacular sight. By walking through historical streets, customers can gain a deeper understanding of Iaido and comprehensively experience Japan's samurai culture.
- The Aoyagi Samurai Manor Museum, which preserves a samurai residence from the Edo period, is a valuable spot where visitors can experience the history and culture of Kakunodate. See architectural style with over 400 years of history as well as the way of life of the samurai of that time, and feel the traditional Japanese aesthetic sense and samurai culture. The garden is also a highlight, offering scenery that captures the beauty of the season.
- The Iaido experience in Kakunodate is an authentic opportunity to deeply engage with the spirit of Japanese martial arts for 2 and a half hours. Put on a training uniform and learn the spirit and manners of the samurai while mastering the basic handling and forms of the Japanese sword. Through drawing and sheathing the sword and other basic movements under the guidance of a skilled instructor, customers will learn concentration, how to use the body, and breathing techniques.
- This is a private tour for 2-6 customers.
