  • Tour Details
1. Experience the wonders of Nagano in a day together with a National Government Licensed English Guide Interpreter. On this tour, see the miso production process in Nagano, which takes pride in being Japan's top producer of miso, and visit the Jigokudani Monkey Park which is known for wild Japanese macaques soaking in hot springs during the cold season.

2. Miso is a traditional food which has been supporting the dietary life of the Japanese. Visit the brewery Shioya Jozo and see how miso is made. This historical brewery was established about 300 years ago as a salt merchant and began producing miso towards the end of the Edo period (1603-1868). 10 of the brewery's buildings have been designated as some of Japan's Registered Tangible Cultural Properties, and to this day, the brewery continues to make miso and soy sauce. After the brewery tour, enjoy tasting miso soup and amazake.

3. Customers will purchase their own lunch in Obuse, a town famous for chestnuts. Relish the local food and stroll around a town that retains a traditional scenery.

4. Sought after by many visitors from all over the world, the Jigokudani Monkey Park is where the behavior of Japanese macaques can be seen up close all year round. Wild Japanese macaques (snow monkeys) soaking in hot springs is a popular winter scene, but at other times of the year when monkeys don't go into the hot springs, visitors can enjoy seeing adorable baby monkeys during their birth season in spring, and the charming sight of lively young monkeys playing about in summer.
