  • Tour Details
1. This tour is a combination of the Kyoto Uji Walking & Tea Ceremony Tour and the Nara Afternoon Tour. Each tour is accompanied by a National Government Licensed English Guide Interpreter.
2. In the morning, visit the picturesque area around Uji Bridge and World Heritage Site Byodo-in Temple.
3. See the magnificent Byodo-in Temple, the vibrant colors of which have been restored just as they were when the temple was built.
4. Experience an authentic tea ceremony in one of Japan's tea plantation areas.
5. For the Nara sightseeing in the afternoon, customers will take a bus to visit the World Heritage Sites of Todai-ji Temple and Kasuga Taisha Shrine (Nara Afternoon Tour).
6. The intensity of Todai-ji Temple's Great Buddha statue is absolutely stunning.
7. The tour will also enter the Kasuga Taisha Shrine special visit area. The area has many attractions such as historical gates and structures as well as hanging lanterns in the corridor. Experience up close the Kasugayama Primeval Forest which has remained untouched for over a thousand years.
8. Get to see wild deer up close, a rarity in Japan and elsewhere in the world, while walking through Nara Park.

Regarding Kyoto Uji Walking & Tea Ceremony Tour (Morning):

- Public transportation will be used on this tour. All trains have non-reserved seats. Please note that seating is not guaranteed.

- The tour may not be able to enter the Phoenix Hall at Byodo-in Temple in case of congestion. In this case, JPY 300 will be refunded at the location.

- The tour may be unable to drop by Nakanoshima Park in case of high water level in the Uji River, etc.

- The tea ceremony experience may vary between tea ceremony procedures with matcha green tea and tea ceremony procedures with sencha green tea depending on the day. Selections may not be made. Also, this may be conducted with other customers. Recording videos is not allowed in the tea room. Thank you for your understanding.


Regarding Nara Afternoon Tour:

- Participants will walk from the parking lot to Todai-ji Temple (about 25 min one-way). Please inform us at the time of booking if any person in your group is using crutches or a wheelchair, or has a chronic illness that makes it difficult to walk for long distances.

- At Kasuga Taisha Shrine, the tour will also enter the Main Sanctuary special visit area. However, in case the special visit area cannot be entered due to events or operational circumstances, the Kasuga Taisha Museum or Manyo Botanical Garden will be visited instead.

- Refunds will not be issued in case the tour visits aforementioned alternative destinations.

- Seats may not be designated.

- In the morning, customers will use public transportation and go sightseeing mainly on foot. Please participate in shoes which are easy to walk in.

- The tea ceremony experience will be held in a tatami room, so please wear socks.

- Children up to 5 years old may join free of charge, but will not be provided with bus seats. If bus seats are required, please make a booking under the child rate.

- The Nara Afternoon Tour is a bus tour. One of the following will be used.

Teisan Kanko Bus Co., Ltd. (in general); Yasaka Sightseeing Bus Co., Ltd.; Yuai Kanko Bus Co., Ltd.; Toh-ho-kanko Bus Co., Ltd.; Kyoto Kanko Bus Co., Ltd.; or Senriyama Bus Co., Ltd.

*In general, Teisan Kanko Bus will be used. If otherwise, it will be specified in the final itinerary.

*Depending on the number of tour participants, transportation to be used may be other than a large bus (mid-size bus, small bus), a hired car (van, minivan - MK Co., Ltd. or Yasaka Group), or a taxi.
