  • Tour Details
1. This 1-day tour from Nagano accompanied by an English-speaking National Government Licensed Guide Interpreter visits a miso brewery to watch the miso production process in Nagano Prefecture, Japan’s leading miso-producing region; and Jigokudani Monkey Park, which is famous as a place where Japanese macaques soak in hot springs during the cold season.
2. Miso is a traditional food in Japan which has been sustaining the dietary life of the Japanese since ancient times. To watch how miso is made, this tour visits Shioya Jozo, a historical brewery established about 300 years ago as a salt merchant and began producing miso towards the end of the Edo period (1603-1868). 10 of the brewery’s buildings have been designated as some of Japan’s Registered Tangible Cultural Properties, and to this day, the brewery continues to make miso and soy sauce.
3. Obuse, a town famous for chestnuts, is the place for lunch. Customers can also enjoy strolling the streets brimming with a traditional atmosphere.
4. Sought after by many visitors from all over the world, Jigokudani Monkey Park is where the behavior of Japanese macaques can be seen up close in every season all year round. As they soak in hot springs characteristic of winter, these Japanese macaques are also called snow monkeys, and have become a famous attraction. At other times of the year when monkeys don’t go into the hot springs, visitors can enjoy seeing cute baby monkeys during their birth season in spring, and the charming sight of lively young monkeys playing about in summer.
5. This tour promotes Environment(Eco)-friendly efforts, Cross-cultural Understanding, and Social Contribution as stated under Sunrise Tours' Sustainable Development Goals. We advocate for responsible travel, and urge one and all to become responsible travelers.
Please check the following page for details.

6.This is a carbon offset product where a portion of the tour booking charge is spent on renewable energy. By converting CO2 emissions during the tour to green energy, it's possible to contribute to activities protecting the planet's future.
